Creative Shirt Project

For my Creative Technical Studio and Design Studio this past semester, we were given a project to design a “creative shirt”. This involved a topic relating to the body, research, sketches, flats, pattern making, and sewing the final. I chose to focus on exaggerated body proportions. I specifically research 1950s fashion trends, like the cone bra and corset. I made different drapes and then turned them into different shirt flats. From the preliminary sketches, I chose a final shirt to make into a pattern. For the pattern process, I did a mix of draping, slashing and spreading, and drafting methods to create the final pattern.
